LIVE: Aussie sets sizzling pace as records fall

The Olyroos can take a huge step towards the quarter-finals in Tokyo with a solid performance tonight against Spain.

Graham Arnold has named an unchanged lineup to the one that kicked off the tournament last week with a statement-making win over Argentina.

Australia shocked the world with a 2-0 win over the South American heavyweights, while a Spanish side boasting several players who featured at the 2021 Euros, sputtered to a draw with Egypt.

Six players – Unai Simon, Eric García, Pau Torres, Pedri, Mikel Oyarzabal and Dani Olmo – started in that 0-0 on Thursday, after being in the squad which made it to the final eight before losing to Italy.

They will start the game as heavy favourites against the Olyroos, who would be in prime position to advance to the knockout rounds if they could even draw this match.

With four points and a game against Egypt still to come, It would be a brilliant chance for Graham Arnold’s men to really make some noise at these games.
