Roosters’ rookie faces ban for crusher tackle

Sydney Roosters rookie Ben Marschke faces a two-game ban for a crusher tackle on Sharks winger Mawene Hiroti during last night’s clash at the SCG.

Marschke was dealt a grade one charge and will miss the Roosters’ round six game against Melbourne if he takes an early guilty plea.

If the 23-year-old fights the charge at the judiciary and loses he will miss two matches.

While Melbourne’s Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Bulldog Ofahiki Ogden have both been fined for contrary conduct following a first half incident during last night’s clash at Stadium Australia.

Ogden can accept a $1150 fine with an early guilty plea while Asofa-Solomona faces a $1600 fine with an early plea.
