Waratahs cop record pounding from Brumbies

It’s almost game over already, you would think, as Noah Lolesio puts the Brumbies up 19-3 after 26 minutes by converting his own try.

It came from a rolling maul, of all places, as the little playmaker got his hands dirty.

“Can you believe it, the fly half amongst the giants,” Sean Maloney said on Nine.

“A rare maul try – they can do everything these days, the fly halves,” former All Blacks pivot Andrew Mehrtens added.

Morgan Turinui felt the home hooker might be unimpressed.

“If you’re Connal McInerney you’re absolutely filthy,” Turinui said.

“Stealing the reward from the Brumbies forwards.”
